Equine Studies 20 focuses on the processes and practices involved in dealing with horses.

Students may choose to take either Cow/Calf or Equine studies to earn this credit, but not both.

Recommend completing Ag Production - Equine Studies 10. Access to horses and facilities is required.

What Will I Learn?

Students will enhance their knowledge and gain confidence in the skills and abilities needed to maintain outdoor equine environments, apply business management skills, manage tack and equipment, communicate and interact professionally, and display a positive attitude toward equine and personal safety.

Students will read, observe, research and carry out hands-on activities while creating videos to demonstrate their skills.

Due to the potential hazards when dealing with horses, students must have an adult mentor’s permission and willingness to supervise and guide the hands-on activities.
