Ag Production - Equine Studies 30

Students will focus on the the skills and abilities needed to discuss basic equine reproduction, recognize and prevent common diseases in horses, offer basic first aid, and provide for more complex nutritional requirements.

Students may choose to take either Cow/Calf or Equine studies to earn this credit, but not both.

Recommend completing Ag Production - Equine Studies 20. Access to horses and facilities is required.

What Will I Learn?

Students will read, observe, research and carry out hands-on activities while creating videos to demonstrate their skills.

Due to the potential hazards when dealing with horses, students must have an adult mentor’s permission and willingness to supervise and guide the hands-on activities.
