Sask DLC coordinates the work placement at an agriculture equipment dealership.
In AET30, you will be introduced to the latest technology in agriculture machinery, including the tools and material needed for equipment maintenance. You will explore emerging technology trends in precision agriculture and get hands-on experience while learning what it opportunities exist in this in-demand career.
This course consists of:
50 hours of online theory to be completed from September to mid-November
50 hours of work placement which consists of:
44-50 hours of a work placement at a local ag equipment dealership to be completed from mid-November to the end of the semester. Sask DLC will coordinate the work placement.
6 hours of AET Learning Camp at Saskatchewan Polytechnic (optional).
If you choose not to attend the learning camp, you simply complete all 50 hours at the work placement.
Given the seasonal nature of the ag industry, this course is only offered in Semester 1.
Work placements provide students an opportunity to see if a trade might be right for them. This is only possible with the support of our partners, the North American Equipment Dealers Association, Canada Equipment Dealers Foundation and Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
All students, parents and mentors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with our work placement policy.
We will do our best to find a local work placement; however, we may not be able to accommodate placements in all situations, and/or some travel may be required.

What is a proctor?Students are responsible for any necessary workplace attire/materials (i.e. steel-toed work boots, coveralls, etc.)
