Ag Production Field Crop Production 20 explores information about crop production and the agriculture cycle, crop health care, environmental sustainability, marketing commodities, mental health and safety. A large focus is on planning and developing different crop management plans.

Prerequisite

Recommend completing Ag Production - Field Crop 10. Access to a grain farm and equipment is required.

What Will I Learn?

Students will explore topics related to farm safety, planning, equipment, seeding, fertilizer, integrated pest management, marketing and career exploration.

The course consists of:

  • 50-60 hours of online theory

  • 25-50 hours work study (students will showcase in the field, hands on cropping skills )

  • final inquiry project of the students choice, in lieu of a final exam

  • face to face learning opportunities in the form of optional field trips
