Ag Production - Cow / Calf 20

This course focuses on cattle production safety, planning, nutrition, healthcare, pasture maintenance, record-keeping and production regulations.

Access to cattle and livestock facilities is required.

Students may choose to take either Cow/Calf or Equine studies to earn this credit, but not both.

None. Recommend completing Ag Production - Cow/Calf 10.

What Will I Learn?

Students will explore topics related to farm safety, livestock handling and regulations, record keeping, breeding programs, nutrition and healthcare, and farm maintenance.

The course consists of:

  • 30-40 assignments

  • a resource binder final project

  • hands-on skills

  • creating videos to demonstrate skills learned

Due to the seasonal nature of this course, we suggest that students who register for Semester 1 allow all year to complete the course.
