Animation B20

This course showcases why and how animators play such an important role in the animation, visual effects and video game industries. With Disney and the Vancouver Animation school providing course resources, you will have the opportunity to explore 3D character computer animation, bringing life to a cast of characters.

What Will I Learn?

You will get an introduction into what animation is, its history and the types of animation used, while exploring career options within the industry. You will learn how to use animation software and practice basic modeling and rigging skills in a 3D environment. Through this unique elective course, you will have the opportunity to create characters and have them walk, run and jump.

Through this course you will create an online portfolio to showcase your work, which is a valuable asset when applying to post-secondary institutions and when job seeking in this field.

Successful students will have the opportunity to use this course as a dual credit, if they choose to pursue further education with Vancouver Animation School or any of their partner institutions.

You are required to have computer that is capable of running Maya software. The software is provided by Sask DLC.
