This course is designed to introduce you to intermediate baseball concepts, including strategies to manage nutrition levels and mental wellness and build upon your leadership skills. You will apply the rules of baseball and learn how baseball statistics and metrics are measured and how they can be used strategically to support athlete improvement.
You will examine the skill sets and training necessary for all positions and learn advanced skill techniques for hitting, throwing and baserunning as well as advanced offensive and defensive game strategies.
You will explore strategies for managing nutrition and mental wellness in-season and off-season as well as explore strategies for dealing with injuries.
You will extend your learning about leadership principles, relationships and community outreach to make the game of baseball more enjoyable for all those involved. You will continue to pursue concepts related to fair play and integrity and will research post-secondary options to play baseball.
While taking this course, it is a benefit to have access to a baseball coach or other knowledgeable mentor that can provide feedback, but this is not required.
