You will develop foundational skills in safety, nutrition and cooking while continuing to develop your French language skills. This course covers topics such as Canada’s Food Guide, kitchen safety, common foods, basic nutrition, recipe preparation and careers in food.
You will learn how food is one of our most basic personal needs and that nutrition plays an important role in our family, community and career. In a constantly evolving society, our food needs will be met in an increasingly varied way.
You will learn about kitchen and food safety, kitchen utensils, recipes and Canada's Food Guide. You will explore baking, the importance of fruits, vegetables and whole grains in your diet. You will also learn how to prepare healthy snacks, while exploring potential careers within the food industry.
Note: You need to have been previously in French Immersion to register in this course.
