You will be introduced to the basic concepts of football. You will explore the elements and rules of tackle, touch and flag football and demonstrate individual and team football skills, while developing their fitness levels, mental training and leadership skills.
You will examine the importance of basic training, conditioning, nutrition and mental wellness in developing an athlete. The will learn about game strategy and tactics, individual and team goal setting, leadership, communication and team building, sportsmanship and fair play.
You will also have the opportunity to explore pathways in football beyond high school.
While taking this course, you will benefit from access to a football coach or another knowledgeable mentor that can provide feedback, but this is not required.
This course can be adapted for flag football, upon request to your teacher.
