You will develop an understanding of the compelling issues facing the world through a lens of history.
You will explore issues such as human rights, world population, growth, the environment and world peace, as well as the conditions, ideas, and events of the 20th century that gave rise to these issues. You will discusses the current state of these issues and possible ways to address them, while expanding your knowledge of the French language.
You will analyze the social, economic and political effects of World War 1, and the rise of totalitarianism and the concept of sovereignty.
Note: You need to have been previously in French Immersion to register in this course. This course is equivalent to History 20/Indigenous or Native Studies 20/Social Studies 20.
