Note: This course is available starting in the 2025-26 school year. Registration opens on March 3.
You will explore how psychological principles influence athletic performance, motivation and well-being. You will examine key topics such as personality traits, confidence, goal setting, attention, arousal and stress management, while learning mental skills like visualization and resilience-building techniques.
This course includes Indigenous perspectives on sports psychology and the role of relationships, leadership and communication in sport. You will analyze psychological challenges such as anxiety, burnout, and mental health issues in athletes, as well as ethical considerations like sportsmanship and fair play.
Through practical applications and self-reflection, you will develop strategies to enhance both athletic and personal performance.
